Earrings :)

pagan - ogam
Recently expanded my jewelry line to include bracelets and earrings; here's my favorite set of earrings (which were snagged by the lovely marshwitch soon after I posted them on Facebook, hehe!). They're black mesquite and abalone; need to make a pair for myself, I <3 them.

BTW, marshwitch, thread_of_song and I formed an arts collective that we've affectionately named Raunchy Old Druids.. we'd love it if you stopped by our Facebook page and said hi! :)

at the thrift store. I included my ATC from Brighde for scale. I think it may have started life as a small spice rack, but Colleen thinks it may have actually been a small ofrenda.

I had the lovely Autumn send me this gorgeous tri-fold ATC.

From left to right, it is Demeter, Persephone and Rhea.

I love that she hand-drew these pictures and with such care and love. Quite the addition to my altar!!

Thanks you so much!!!!

This is the card I received from Lassair.  I like it well, and am tickled that she included the Scottish wildcat on it.  What an artist!

I received two lovely cards from Melissa Hill.  One for Ostara and the second for Saule (as she noticed I was fond of the Lithuanian Sun Mother after she had started the first one).  I love them, thanks Melissa!

I am a huge fan of erynn999's book 'Ogam: Weaving Word Wisdom', and so I asked her if I could gift her with a set of ogam to thank her for the inspiration that her book has given me. She said she would love that, and so began the painstaking job of making the best ogam sets ever. Interestingly enough, I had two woods fighting over who would be the best wood for erynn999's ogam (one swore that being meaningful was the important part and the other swore that being pretty was more important).. so I ended up making her two sets. :)

I was SO nervous when it was finally time at PantheaCon to give them to her (it was like preparing a meal for your favorite chef.. do your best, and pray that they won't think it sucks lol).. and she loved them! She even squee'd AND happydanced, which totally made my weekend. *big grin* It also gave me the nerve to ask her if I could possibly use a bit of info from her book to create an insert briefly explaining the meanings of the ogam, so that I could include one with each set of ogam that I make. Not only did she agree, but when I sent her the first draft in which I only used a bit of info (not wanting to get greedy or take advantage), she actually asked me to include more in order to make the info as a whole more useful; TOO cool!

Anyway, here are the ogam sets that I made for her; she doesn't use the forfeda, so her sets are smaller than the 25-stave sets that I usually make.

The first set is madrone; given that I'm a member of Sierra Madrone Grove, and she has close ties with several of my Grovemates, madrone was a given in light of its significance. Pic behind cut.Collapse )

The other set is purpleheart; this was the 'I should be erynn999's ogam because I'm the beautiful one' wood. *grin* Pic behind cut.Collapse )

And just because I am SO thrilled with how these came out, here's a set of ogam made of yew that I had imported from England; this set was made for marshwitch. Pic behind cut.Collapse )

Oh and lastly, I have new Facebook, deviantArt and Etsy pages, feel free to like/fave/friend me on any of them!
